Bath under the sky, Tikal Hostel Competition 2011

Tikal, Guatemala

I was wandering in the forest.

Sunlight penetrated through the forest, washing the Maler Causeway. Hidden in the forest, a set of steps reaches the trail, facing to north Acropolis with Temple one next to it.

The museum

Limestone walls and sunshine from the glass lead me into the museum, the one with shadows of columns, forest, and clouds.

Lookout terrace

The I took the glass elevator up to the ceiba tree canopy. The great temples stick out of the forest. I was standing in-between sky and forest with clouds floating around.

Ground floor

Sunshine casts on ground floor through the voids, visitors sitting chatting around the light, the tree trunks and plants surrounding has been existing for thousands of years.

Hostel

I stepped up into the hostel, starry night showed up ahead. “Tme, just like stars, moves quietly and smoothly”, I talked to myself, silently.
